River and Music Festivals

The Colonnades residents are looking forward to the River and Music Festivals here at the waterfront and we will be expecting to welcome large numbers of visitors. These are the traffic arrangements just received from Liverpool City Council.

International Mersey River Festival:  Saturday 14 – Sunday 15 June 2014 (11am – 5pm)

Music on the Waterfront: Fri 13 (6.30pm–10.30pm), Sat 14 (1pm–7pm), Sun 15 (12pm–5pm)

Liverpool’s waterfront will be the focus of the International Mersey River Festival incorporating Music on the Waterfront.

The event will take place at the Albert Dock, Pier Head and Princes Parade. There will also be a service at St Nicholas Church where the ships company will march from Princess Parade to St Nicholas Church on Friday 13 June.

To enable the event to take place safely we have had to implement the following road closures:

Friday 13 June

Pier Head, Canada Boulevard, Water St, Brunswick St and St Nicolas Place – 4.00pm – 12.00 midnight. Pay and display bays will be suspended in Brunswick St and Water St to allow for additional toilets to be situated from Friday morning.

Princes Parade – 10 minutes on two occasions between 1.30pm – 4.00pm (to allow the Ship’s Company to march across The Strand).

Saturday 14 June

Albert Dock/Princes Parade: 10.00am – 6.00pm

Pier Head, Canada Boulevard, Water St, Brunswick St and St Nicolas Place,10.00am – 8.00pm

Sunday 15 June

Albert Dock, 9.00am – 7.00pm

Pier Head, Canada Boulevard, Water St, Brunswick St and St Nicolas Place and Princes Parade 10.00am – 6.00pm

The following arrangements have been put in place to assist:

Albert Dock – Gower St and Kings Parade will remain open and there will be a steward to maintain residents access. These areas will only be closed in the event of an emergency.

Mann Island Development – Mann Island will remain open and access for residents will remain the same.

Museum of Liverpool – Museum disabled parking will be at Brunswick Street by prior arrangement through Museum Reception.

Mersey Ferry Terminal / Matou – Pedestrian access will be maintained, please ensure deliveries are made outside the road closure times.

Crown Plaza / IOM Steampacket – Access will be maintained via St Nicholas Place.

Taxi’s (St Nicholas Place) – Will relocate at the pay and display car park at the beginning of St Nicholas Place.

Liver Building – Access to car parks will be maintained for regular permit holders but access will be through the road closure, please have your building access pass available in your car.

Cunard Building – Access to car park will be via Water Street through the road closure, please have proof that you are a permit holder in your vehicle.

Port of Liverpool Building – Mann Island will remain open so no changes.

Princes Parade Businesses – Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 June

Access will be given to your car parks before 10.00am. Unfortunately due to the expected numbers attending the event it may be difficult for you to leave until after 6.00pm, there will be alternative parking arrangements available by prior arrangement. Please note that we will endeavour to maintain access for Royal Mail, if this is unsafe to do we will get the post van as close to your business as possible.
