Residents visit to Albert Dock Bars and Restaurants

Residents 6 RSOn the 20th February a group of residents accepted a very generous invitation from the Bars and Restaurants around the Albert Dock to visit and sample their fare. It was an enormously enjoyable evening and a special thank you the managements and staff of all venues for hosting us and to Rachael Bampton Smith, the Marketing and Events Advisor to the Albert Dock for organising the evening.

End of an Era

SONY DSCOn February 28th the OCS contract for security at the Colonnades came to an end. To thank our two loyal and long serving guards the residents gathered in reception at 6:30 pm. In a short address the Chairman of the Residents Association said “it is impossible to put into a few words our gratitude for so many years of loyal service”. Both of them are moving onto jobs of their choice and are looking forward to the challenge of something new. We all wish them every success for the future.

Kings Parade Closure

RESIDENTS NOTICE

KINGS PARADE

ROAD CLOSURE

Tuesday 4th – Friday 7th March

Kings Parade will be completely closed for the four days above.

The closure is due to essential works connected with the new exhibition centre and hotel at Kings Dock.

A traffic steward will be provided at the end of Gower Street at Kings Dock expense to direct traffic and to ensure that our Service Road is not used as a turning area

Plans for 2014

There are a number of projects being planned for 2014 to refurbish and improve the Colonnades Apartments common areas,

  1. The Service road is to be resurfaced.
  2. A partial redecoration of the corridors will take place with further redecoration to be done on a rolling programme in future years.
  3. LED lighting and light intensity reduction during quiet periods to be installed in garage.
  4. Lift renovation and reliability improvements.
  5. Redesign of Reception area.

This is a full programme and is subject to availability funds but the Residents Association is committed to making significant progress during the year.
